Learning Through Literature

A new school year is upon us and it sure is an exciting time!  New books, new pencils, new subjects are all enough to make even the most reluctant student ready to learn.  As early elementary school students become upper elementary school students, adjustments are made in the way material is presented to them.

Learning through literature is an incredible tool for children to gain knowledge.  As students grow and mature, the literature they read likely becomes more difficult but also more interesting to them.  With the start of a new school year, this is a great time to introduce new chapter books to your students. And what is more exciting than literature for homeschoolers, where books feature homeschooled students?  If you can locate books where the main character is homeschooled, all the better.  It’s always exciting to have something neat in common with a character in a good book!
